7 tips to help with your food choice
1) Eat mostly fresh food. Reduce the amount of ultra processed food. - Keep your food as close to its natural source as possible. If you can’t identify a natural source, don’t eat it. Try an avoid ready meals, commercially baked pastries, biscuits, cookies or cakes, takeout food, fast food, sweets/candy, white bread, bagels, cereal bars, packaged cereals with added sugar, or soda/fizzy drinks. These foods should not make up the bulk of your diet. This leads to
2) Bulk of diet should be fruit and vegetable. Very filling nutriously dense foods, that is low in calories. We advise that our clients try to eat 30 different types of vegetable and chocolate.
3) Drink lots of water. Drinking water can reduce overall liquid calorie intake and is necessary to burn fat. Also if you do have a fizzy drink addiction a simple switch from sugary fizzy drinks to drinks like; Coke Zero, 7 up free or Kombucha.
4) Eat protein with every meal. Options that people can forget about that are high in protein are Greek yoghurt, pulses, eggs, nuts. Hight protein diet can help keep you fuller for longer, and less likely to snack. It is also helpful for tissue repair and help you recover more quickly from exercise.
5) Limit alcohol consumption. Reducing your daily evening wine glass to 2-3 a week, can make overall difference in weight loss.
6) Get out of your comfort sone, and try new veg or meals at least once a week.
7) 80:20 rule, still have things you love and enjoy. Try and swap them out for less calorific or healthier options dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate have dark chocolate. Coke Zero instead of Coke etc. However it is good still enjoy food and go out and have social events as that can be imperative to reducing likiness of giving up and or binge eating.
